Last week, the Gibraltar Horticultural Society and the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens jointly hosted a session to teach schoolteachers about horticulture. The session was very well supported by teachers from a wide cross-section of Gibraltar’s education system, from infant schools to comprehensives. During a busy two hours, the teachers learnt how children can be encouraged to garden within school grounds. The relevance of horticulture to most facets of school curricula was also highlighted. We look forward to continuing to provide support for teachers and pupils who wish to expand their horticultural skills.
