Plants

Cerastium gibraltaricum

The Gibraltar Botanic Gardens grow plants from around the globe, but our collections focus on succulents and plants from parts of the world with a Mediterranean climate.

Plant List

The list of plants found in cultivation and in a wild state at the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens can be downloaded as a pdf. Classification by family follows the recommendations made by the Angiosperm Phylogeny Group (2009; APG III).

What is Flowering?

Gibraltar’s climatic conditions and Mediterranean seasonality have a strong influence on the timing of flowering plants. Although more plants flower during our spring than any other period, the Gibraltar Botanic Gardens showcase a range of flowers throughout the year. Flowering plants can be viewed by month (below) or photo galleries.
